Also sport makes a strong character and adds confidence, which is important.

2. Reliable
Girls love to feel safe with a guy.
It includes strength as to protect your girl (see #1).
It also includes finance. At least you should be able to supply yourself.
The guy like this she usually wants as a dad for her kids (even if a girl says she wants no kids, the instincts still make her choose based on this "dad" thing).

3. Smart
Education. Not necessarily a school/college/university (though they help), but books, talks to people you like and those you don't yet understand, work it out.
A good thing to develop "smartness" is to set goals, and reach them. It develops qualities, flexibility, communication (in most cases), knowledge, and all this makes a "smart" person. Humour comes there too (jokes help as well).

4. Loving

5. Confident
Achieving your goal (whether sportive, career-oriented or private) adds confidence.
Actually, confidence is expierience. The more you do in life, the more confident you become.
Also confidence includes positiveness. Be positive - learn to see good things, possibilities and chances in life.
Of course, we all face problems. But solve them with a smile.

That was part number 1 - preparatory.
Of course, it takes time to develop all of the above. But going somewhere is 50% of getting it.
